Talon Tactical Medicine

Effective July 1st, 2016

TTM will accept a firearm transfer from licensed FFL Dealers and Manufactures. We are also able to accept transfers from private individuals in other states. If there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to read up on the regulations as they go into depth attached below. You can find these regulations at www.atf.gov

Here is what the ATF “Federal Firearms Regulations Reference Guide”‘ (ATF P 5300.4) says:

(B9) May a nonlicensee ship a firearm by carrier?
A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by carrier to a resident of his or her own state or to a licensee in any state. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm and prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm.

[18 U.S.C. 922(a)(2)(A), 922(a) (3), 922(a)(5) and 922(e), 27 CFR 178.31, 27 CFR 478.31 and 478.30]

(B8) May a nonlicensee ship a firearm through the U. S. Postal Service?
A nonlicensee may mail a shotgun or rifle to a resident of his or her own state or to a licensee in any state. Handguns are not mailable. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. A nonlicensee may not transfer any firearm to a nonlicensed resident of another state. The Postal Service recommends that longguns be sent by registered mail and that no marking of any kind which would indicate the nature of the contents be placed on the outside of any parcel containing firearms.

TTM will provide a copy of our FFL to the transferring FFL via E-Mail or Postal Mail. Due to increased fraud identified by the ATF, TTM will not provide a copy of our FFL directly to any customer at any time. If you are a FFL dealer it is highly encouraged to complete an NICS E-Check on the transferring FFL Dealer.

The National Instant Criminal Background Check System, or NICS, is all about saving lives and protecting people from harm—by not letting guns fall into the wrong hands. It also ensures the timely transfer of firearms to eligible gun buyers.

Mandated by the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act of 1993 and launched by the FBI on November 30, 1998, NICS is used by Federal Firearms Licensees (FFLs) to instantly determine whether a prospective buyer is eligible to buy firearms. Before ringing up the sale, cashiers call in a check to the FBI or to other designated agencies to ensure that each customer does not have a criminal record or isn’t otherwise ineligible to make a purchase. More than 230 million such checks have been made, leading to more than 1.3 million denials.

Misuse or unauthorized access of the NICS system may result in a fine not to exceed $10,000 and/or cancellation of user privileges as set forth in 28 Code of Federal Regulations 25.11.

When purchasing a firearm online or arranging for the transfer of a firearm, please contact TTM. Firearms arriving without contact information for the transferee will remain at our secure storage location until transferee verification is complete. Firearms received without a VALID FFL enclosed or sent ahead of the shipment, will be held in secure storage until the proper license is received from the transferring dealer.

Firearms shipped to TTM are NOT available for pickup until notified by our staff. Delivery confirmation through UPS/FEDEX/USPS/ETC does not signify that the firearm/s have been logged into our system as required by ATF, and ready for pickup. Firearms are logged into our system in the order of delivery and may not be available on the same day. Please do not arrive to receive your firearm transfer until contacted by our staff. You must pick-up your firearm at our location, our staff will not meet you at a different location for transfer.

Firearms transfers being shipped out by TTM to another FFL Dealer will ship within 48-Hours after they are received by TTM pending there are no complications between dealers. The customer transferring the firearm must provide a suitable Box for shipping. No insurance will be added to shipments unless requested by the customer. We will ONLY ship to FFL Dealers after receiving a VALID copy of their FFL and running an FFL Dealer E-Check with ATF. We will make contact with the FFL dealer and verify the transaction and proper correspondence. In Addition to our FFL Transfer Fee, customers are responsible for all shipping charges, insurance, delivery confirmation, Adult Signature Fee, ETC.
